The New York JETS Drafted 12 players all at positions of need.
While some of the top players got away, the team added two potential starters with their first two picks.
It was said that the JETS had tried to trade up in the third and fourth rounds to no avail.
The third round featured some top wide receivers but they were gone by the time the JETS got there.
GM JOHN Idzik eventually used every pick and while 10 May not have been household names, they were position players the team needed to fill to create competition and added talent.
It should be noted that the JETS also added QB-Tajh Boyd.
Will this pick hang around to fill the void when Vicks’s one year contract is up at the end of the 2014 season or will he compete for the third spot now, unseating QB-Matt Simms.
I rate this draft a “B” in that the team needed a quality receiver. While they were able to get tight end Jace Amaro They missed getting WR’s like LEE, COOKS, JENKINS.
Add that to the talent they didn’t sign in free agency and it stings all the more.
The JETS face some tough pass happy teams and will need to be ready for them.To that end they picked up S-Calvin Pryor but missed out on the top five cornerbacks.
Let’s hope the ones we did draft can play.
