The New York Jets announced Tuesday the signing of former 2010 draft-pick, John Conner after placing powerful fullback Tommy Bohanon on injured reserve.
Bohanon, (24) 6′-1″ 246# was a seventh-round pick in 2013 and battled Chad young for the position during this year’s training camp. Bohanon had replaced Lex Hilliard.
Toughness? Bohanon suffered a broken collarbone while playing in the first half against the Detroit Lions. He told no one and continued on to play the entire second half of Sunday’s game, while injured.
Bohanon will undergo corrective surgery. Tommy ends his four game season on injured reserve with one carry for 3 yards and two catches for 30 yards playing against the Green bay Packers. In 20 career games, Bohanon has 18 rushes for 65 yards and 13 catches for 99 yards.
It is possible he could return sometime after week thirteen depending on his rehabilitation and medical Clearance.
The coaching staff was unaware of the painful situation that Bohanon was playing through during the entire second half: . “That ought to tell you about the kind of toughness he has,” Rex Ryan said Monday.
